I have been able to work jointly with the Council, Mayor, City Staff, and residents to accomplish some amazing and exciting things for our city. Eight years ago, I had two campaign mottos: “Dedicated to making good things better,” and “Where there is a Willden, there is a way.” We have been able to work together the past eight years and make our great city even better.
Together, we can continue to accomplish greater things over the next four years and shape a bright future for our incredible city. Here are few small examples of what we’ve accomplished together over the last several years:
When I vote for someone, I don’t expect that person to agree with me 100% of the time, but I expect that person to acknowledge my voice and be willing to consider the information I have presented them when they are making the decision. Too often, elected officials forget who put them in the office, and they forget to listen.
Over the last eight years, I have actively listened to the voice of the people. For example:
While nearly all governmental entities were looking for a way to increase revenue and taxes, we adopted a property tax reduction for 2021. The city is fiscally sound and continues to look for ways to save you money.
As a CPA and finance professional, I have the extensive background and expertise necessary to ensure we remain on the path of fiscal responsibility for years to come. We have saved our residents money. For example, the Council, Mayor, and City Staff renegotiated a large contract that reduced the city’s long-term obligations by $46.7 million dollars!
Over the last eight years, we have significantly increased parks and improved our sports program. This all has been done without increasing taxes! For example:
All this has been done while reducing property taxes!
During the last eight years, we have been faced with many challenges due to rapid growth, and we’ve navigated these challenges making Saratoga Springs an even better place to live.
We have convinced other government bodies to invest millions in our city infrastructure, and our city continues to invest millions in infrastructure. This will ensure our traffic, water supply, and roads will stay in front of the growth in the future. All this has and will be done without increasing taxes!
Due to our efforts, planned road expansions (Foothill Blvd, Redwood Road widening) have and are occurring many years before the state had planned.
We have brought in many businesses over the past eight years. We continue to add to the list of many businesses that have made the decision to invest in our community, bringing in sit down restaurants, office buildings, and jobs to the area.
Some examples of business over the past four years include:
Over the last four years, we have increased recreational opportunities, parks, library services, added a passport office, and added full-time fire and police staff to support our growing city. All this was done without raising taxes!
